A comma breaks up a sentence and ultimatly provides a pause in a sentence. They can come in between clauses or phrases.
Can you figure out when the comma is used in this sentence?
Hakim Juan and Jose are all eating pizza salad and bread.

I can't figure this one out. What is a clause and phrase.
Perhaps
"Hakim Juan, and Jose, are all eating, pizza salad and bread."
Is that right? =P
First of all, a clause is a group of words that include a subject and a predicate. A predicate includes a verb and another verb that adds detail to the subject. A phrase is a group of words that help make up a sentence.
Secondly, Wally-For-3, you are not correct with the sentence.
The correct way of forming this sentence is...
Hakim, Juan and Jose are all eating pizza, salad and bread.
As you can see, the commas are correctly placed in the sentence.
